Sumanta is the principal consultant, based out of Gurgaon (near New Delhi), tasked with leading the IT Hardware, IT Peripherals, Consumer Electronics and Business Partner Ecosystem (Channels) research at CMR. He is responsible for market sizing and forecasting, evaluating industry structure and dynamics including the channel partner ecosystem and its workings. The portfolio of products his team tracks includes desktop PCs, notebook PCs, netbooks, tablet PCs, PC monitors, digital cameras, printers, multi-function devices (MFDs), projectors and point of sale (PoS) terminals. In this capacity he carries forward his rich experience as Senior Manager, Computing Products, Peripherals and Channels Research, IDC India.

Sumanta has played a leadership role in important custom consulting assignments involving strategic ‘go’ / ‘no-go’ decisions. He is widely quoted in leading dailies, business publications and industry portals.

Prior to his current stint, Sumanta has worked with GE Money, where he was responsible for analyzing the market performance of SBI Cards.

Sumanta completed his Master’s Degree in Business Management with a specialization in Marketing from the EMPI Business School, New Delhi and is an Economics (Honours) Graduate from University of Calcutta, Kolkata.
