Vishaal has over twenty years of experience. He currently works as Associate Vice President, Marketing, Communications and Strategic Initiatives with CMR. In this capacity he carries forward his rich experience with IDC India. Vishaal conceptualised and wrote CMR MarketView 2011, an overview of the key trends in the India IT and Telecommunications market. He edits the monthly CMR Connect newsletter, CMR Analyst Viewpoints (https://www.cmrindia.com/blog/) and all CyberMedia Research press releases that cover a range of technology domains and markets – IT, Telecommunications, Semiconductor & Electronics, Energy, Healthcare & Lifesciences et al.
In his previous role, Vishaal was instrumental in enhancing the visibility and value proposition of the IDC brand in India. He played a key role in IDC publicity programmes through – a series of reports (India Annual Top 10 ICT Market PREDICTIONS, 2006-2010), IDC’s annual industry briefing sessions (India DIRECTIONS, 2005-2009), press releases, articles, analyst quotes and IDC data in mainline business and industry media.
Vishaal also oversaw the Go-To-Market Services Practice for IDC in India for four years. This included conceptualising, promoting and growing new revenue streams from syndicated conferences, customised executive workshops, web-based content and newsletters for the IT vendor and ICT channel partner communities on important industry issues.
Prior to assuming his current role Vishaal was in-charge of managing the Industry Verticals Research and Consulting Services Practice at IDC India. In this capacity he was responsible for developing syndicated reports and supervising research and consulting assignments on the adoption of IT products and solutions by major industry verticals like Banking and Insurance, Energy and Power, Telecommunications, Healthcare & Lifesciences and the Government sector.
Prior to his stint with IDC India, Vishaal worked with CyberMedia Publications, Datapro and HCL Group in the IT media, corporate IT training and OA product sectors. This experience has helped Vishaal build a wide-ranging perspective on different facets of marketing and consumption / usage of IT and Telecom products and services in India.
Vishaal graduated in the physical sciences from Lucknow Christian Degree College, University of Lucknow, Lucknow. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh state, northern India.
Vishaal’s areas of interest include technology, branding & communication, financial inclusion and political economics.
